The Way

Jesus Is The WayBeing a Christian is:

  • Not keeping a set of rules
  • Not trying to do your best
  • Not just being a member of a church

Real Christianity is about a relationship with Jesus.

When Jesus created you, He gave you the gift of free will. In fact, you will use that gift now as you choose whether to read on or not to read on. As you go further along this journey God will start to reveal Himself to you, and show you what this road to Eternity is all about.

You will notice that throughout this journey we refer to the Bible and quote verses from it regularly. The Bible is the inspired Word of God, God was able to lead and guide the authors of the Bible so that it contains exactly what He wanted.

As Christians, we believe that the Bible shows us the way we should live, encourages us and directs us – I guess you could call it a “Handbook for Life”.

“No one is good, not even one.” Romans 3:10

There is a philosophy that many people have adopted, that if
you are a good person or lend a hand to a good cause, you are
automatically entitled to a relationship with God. But the Bible
clearly states that no matter how good a life you live, no one,
but no one is good enough to have this relationship with God.
Fortunately for us that is not where the journey ends.

“There is a way that seems right to a man, but in the
end it leads to death.” Proverbs 14:12

“For all have sinned; all fall short of God’s glorious
standard.” Romans 3:23

Often we can think that the things we do wrong aren’t bad enough
to be called a sin. But the Bible tells us that we are all sinners.
We all do things that we know are wrong. And that’s why we feel
separated from God, because God is pure and holy, and we’re not.

“But God showed his great love for us by sending Christ
to die for us while we were still sinners.” Romans 5:8

The Bible teaches that Jesus Christ, the sinless Son of God,
has paid the penalty for all your sins. You may think you have
to lead a good life and do good deeds before God will love you.
But the Bible says that Christ loved you so much that he died
for you, even before you knew Him.

“For God so loved the world that he gave his one and
only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have
eternal life.” John 3:16

“For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of
God is eternal life through Christ Jesus our Lord.” Romans
6:23

Just as a thief must face the consequences of their crime, all
of us as sinners must pay the penalty for our sins. If we continue
to live a life of sin, we will pay the penalty of spiritual death.
We will not only die physically, but will also be separated from
God for all Eternity.

“For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith–and
this not from yourselves, it is the gift of God– not by works,
so that no one can boast.” Ephesians 2:8-9

“For if you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord
and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you
will be saved. For it is by believing in your heart that you
are made right with God, and it is by confessing with your mouth
that you are saved.” Romans 10:9-10

Forgiveness of sin and eternal life are God’s free gift to you.
You don’t have to work for that gift – all you have to do is accept
it and believe with all of your heart that Jesus died for you.
If you want to give Jesus total control of you life and experience
the peace that comes from knowing where you will spend Eternity,
all you need to do is follow these three easy steps:

  1. Admit that you are a sinner and be willing to turn from your
    sins
  2. Believe that Jesus died on the cross for you
  3. Ask Jesus to become the Lord of you life.

The way you do this is by praying to Jesus. Prayer is simply
talking to Jesus as though you are talking to a best friend. If
you want a hand, below is a prayer that if you can say and mean
with all your heart, you will start the best relationship of your
whole life.

Prayer

“Lord, I know that I am separated from you because of my
sin. Thanks for showing me that Jesus died in my place. I want
to ask you to forgive my sin and come into my life. I ask you
to take control of all that I am and all that I do. I surrender
my way of doing things to you. Thank you for the gift of knowing
that I will spend Eternity with you. In Jesus Name Amen”

“Here I am! I stand at the door and knock. If anyone
hears my voice and opens the door, I will come in and eat with
him, and he with me.” Revelation 3:20

“Anyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.”
Romans 10:13

Congratulations – you are now on the greatest journey of your
entire life and believe me you will never look back! Once you
have prayed the prayer, you can say without a shadow of doubt
that you are a Christian and part of Gods family.

“Yet to all who received him, to those who believed in
his name, he gave the right to become children of God” John
1:12

You are at the very beginning of this new adventure, and like
any relationship it will grow and deepen over time. Can I suggest
you do the following things to help you along your way:

  1. Read your bible everyday start at the book of John.
  2. Talk to God in prayer every day, tell Him what’s on your
    mind, good or bad.
  3. Tell others about Jesus and the new life He has given you.
  4. Find a church in your local area so you can meet other Christians.
